What is Neomycin; Polymyxin B; Prednisolone eye suspension?
NEOMYCIN; POLYMYXIN B; and PREDNISOLONE (Poly-Pred®) helps to reduce swelling, redness, and itching of the eye and treats eye infections. Generic forms of this eye suspension are not available.
What should my health care professional know before I receive Neomycin; Polymyxin B; Prednisolone?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

any other active infection
-
contact lens wearer
-
glaucoma
-
recent cataract surgery
-
an unusual reaction to neomycin, polymyxin B, corticosteroids, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-
pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-
breast-feeding
How should this medicine be used?
This eye suspension is only for use in the eye. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash hands before and after use. Shake suspension well before using. Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down with your index finger to form a pouch. Try not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye, fingertips, or other surface. Squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close the eye gently to spread the drops. Do not use your medicine more often than directed. Finish the full course of medicine prescribed by your prescriber or health care professional even if think your condition is better. Do not stop using except on your prescriber's advice.
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.
What drug(s) may interact with Neomycin; Polymyxin B; Prednisolone?
Do not use any other eye products without consulting your prescriber or health care professional. Check before stopping or starting any of your medicines or non-prescription products.
What should I watch for while taking Neomycin; Polymyxin B; Prednisolone?
Check with your prescriber or health care professional if your condition has not improved after 2 days, or if it gets worse. Do not use longer than 10 days unless instructed by your prescriber.
Tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are exposed to anyone with measles or chickenpox, or if you develop sores or blisters that do not heal properly.
If you are a contact lens wearer, ask your prescriber or health care professional before you use the product when you can use your lenses again.
A burning or stinging reaction that does not go away may mean you are allergic to this product. Stop using and call your prescriber or health care professional.
This eye suspension can make certain eye conditions worse. Only use it for conditions for which your prescriber or health care professional has prescribed.
To prevent the spread of infection, do not share eye products, towels, and washcloths with anyone else. Throw away any unused eye suspension once your treatment is complete.
What side effects may I notice from receiving Neomycin; Polymyxin B; Prednisolone?
If this product is used for long periods of time other serious side effects may develop. Report any other unusual effects to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as you can.
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:

burning, stinging or swelling of the eyelids

eye pain, decreased, or blurred vision (that will not go away)

rash

watery eyes

Where can I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature between 15 to 25 degrees C (59 to 77 degrees F). Store suspension upright and shake well before using. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
