Staying Healthy

You can take some important steps to keep yourself healthy. Here are suggestions from the American Academy of Family Physicians:

  • Don't smoke or use any form of tobacco.

  • Eat a healthy diet.

  • Exercise regularly. Check with your health care provider before starting to exercise if you have been sedentary.

  • Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all.

  • Don't use illegal drugs.

  • Practice safe sex.

  • Use a seat belt when riding in any vehicle.

  • See your health care provider regularly for preventive care.
