Mints No Help
Although eating a chocolate mint might seem like a good way to ease the pain of heartburn, mints may make the problem worse, according to the National Heartburn Alliance. Chocolate mints contain two of three common triggers for heartburn, or gastroesophageal reflux: chocolate, mint and lying down in bed.
