Preventing Yeast Infections

Vaginal yeast infections are quite common in women: Three-fourths of women will have a yeast infection at some point, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). To help prevent a yeast infection, don't use a douche, feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant sanitary pads or tampons, or bubble bath, the AAFP says. These products appear to alter vaginal acidity and can lead to a yeast infection.
